  • Build a culture of belonging where every member feels respected and heard.
  • Build broader solidarity across the Massachusetts Society of Professors Lowell, other campus unions, the entire UMass system, and the higher education community to advocate for systemic change and shared progress.
  • Celebrate collective wins and foster a sense of shared pride and accomplishment.

Empowerment image

Empowerment

  • Ensure the faculty contract is upheld by holding the administration accountable, addressing contract violations swiftly, and equipping members with the knowledge and support needed to assert their rights.
  • Equip members with tools, training, and resources to build leadership capacity.
  • Foster an environment where members feel confident advocating for themselves and their colleagues.
  • Create spaces for every member to actively participate in union decision-making and initiatives.

Transparency image

Transparency

  • Ensure clear and accessible communication on union decisions, negotiations, and finances.
  • Hold regular and effective forums and meetings to keep members informed and involved in shaping our collective future.
